You have an image lazy load plugin that is causing the issue. Please deactivate this plugin, clear all caches, and check again to confirm.

Below is a list of all active plugins. To the best of my knowledge, none have a lazy load component.

Imagify: 2.2.6

The lazy load might be added by Imagify: 2.2.6 plugin. 

Asti... Imagify says they do not offer "LazyLoad". I disabled it and no change. Any other thoughts?

I don't know what if anything you did but today it is working. Thanks if you did something. I changed nothing that i remember. 

I did disable “EmbedPlus for YouTube” and that made no difference. Here is added detail...

Note in Screenshot #1 the Gravatar image shows up and then so does my image in a response. But on a different post, in Screenshot #2 the Gravatar image does not show up and my image is also missing. What could be causing this?

This kind of issue is usually caused by either conflict with other plugins or the active theme. Please deactivate the plugins/theme one by one and check after each deactivation to find the problem maker.

Keep the cache plugin (if you have) deactivated during this testing process.

Don't forget to press Ctrl+F5(twice) on the frontend each time before checking.

The avatars seem to show up on my iPad and iPhone but not my Mac. Anyway.... Can you perhaps tell me how to set the default order of comments from what it is now ("oldest") to ("newest") in the dropdown? Thanks.
