I was having an issue trying to approve/reply to comments on my website.

In other to debug the issue, I deactivated all plugins and themes.

Activating the plugins one by one, revealed that the issue is from this plugin is causing the issue.

I am using Version 7.1.5.

Currently, I have uninstalled the plugin and everything is working fine.

Please help fix

@okereke-divine,

I may suggest you install and activate the Query Monitor plugin and check the issues you get.

Okay. I have just activated the plugin. But I can't really understand what they are saying as the errors.

Also, please explain how this is supposed to solve the issue I have with wp-discuz plugin

UPDATE:

I just wanted to provide more details:

When I try the "Approve & reply" it won't go through. It will just approve the post and show error message saying critical error on website

@okereke-divine,

Could you please record some full-screen video with the issue?

@asti Sure. I have done that now. In the record, you will see that I tried replying to a comment. You will see the error I got.

@okereke-divine,

Please open the console tab of your browser (press F12) and let us know what error do you there.

UPDATED: When I click on it, I saw that a plugin (now activated was causing a fatal error).

So I deactivated the plugin yet the issue is not gone.

I tried replying to comments and it is a similar issue. Watch the new screen record -->> https://streamable.com/7cisdy

In the record, I tried replying to a comment when the wpdiscuz is active/deactivated.

- When it is active, I get issue

-When it is not active, no issue.

I'm not sure what the problem would be again

@okereke-divine,

Could you please send the admin login details to info[at]gvectors.com email address? I'll ask the developers to check the issue for you.

@okereke-divine,

The issue doesn't have any relation to wpDiscuz plugin. There is the following issue on your website, which caused the issue:

PHP Fatal error:  Cannot declare class PHPMailer\PHPMailer\PHPMailer, because the name is already in use in /home/allscho1/public_html/wp-includes/PHPMailer/PHPMailer.php on line 32

Once you solve the issue the wpDiscuz will work fine. A Similar case is discussed here: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/10734397/phpmailer-exception-error

You can find some useful info on Google

If the issue is not from your plugin, then when I deactivate the discuz plugin, I should still face the exact problem. But that is not the case. When I deactivate the plugin, everything works fine.

You have been super helpful, but leaving this case here is not soo good. The google search results are not comprehensible and overwhelming. Please help further

This is a reply from Darshana (WP SMTP Support Staff) on Similar Issue:

Also, our plugin does not require the SMTP class/file if it already exists. Usually, it’s required and initialized by WP core, but some plugins are doing it manually without checking for the class existence before doing so and that is why you’re getting this error.

From the above, please don't think your plugin is requesting the PHPMailer class without checking for the class existence?

I am just lost, please help.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I contacted the plugin and they suggested I install a wp smtp plugin which I did and the issue was fixed.

Thanks once again.
