Are there shortcodes to show the most recent comments and users with the most comments?

I may suggest you check out the wpDiscuz Widgets addon. It comes with the following five widgets:
- Most voted comments,
- Active comment threads,
- Most commented posts,
- Recent Comments
- Active comment authors.
