Hi, we have wpdiscuz 7.0 and it says we should have the option to upload media in the comments. We have everything turned on in the settings to do so, however the media uploader is not showing up in the comment box corner as indicated in the instructions. Is there a way to fix this? We do not need the media uploader plugin right now, and would just like to be able to upload a single image. Thank you.

Hi @aschmutt,

We don't see the wpDiscuz comment form on the URL you've provided. Please leave the direct URL where we can see the issue.

Here is the direct link. I also included a screenshot so you can see the issue as the course is only open to registered users.

As I said before, you won't see the comment form from the direct link as this course is only open to registered users. Hence the reason I attached a screenshot. Please see screenshots of my settings and the comment box to see the issue. I am attaching them here once again

@aschmutt,

No need to attach the screenshot again. We need to see the wpDiscuz comment form to check the issue.

Just enable it for guests as well yo allow us to check the problem. If you can't provide some testing user's login details.

I can set the topic as private so you ca leave it directly here.

Ok, I have opened it up for all users temporarily, but when I check the course in another browser, it doesn't seem to be displaying the comments at all (let me know on your end if this is also the case. The lesson links that should display comments are:

https://teacheratseaalumni.org/lessons/rov-systems-discussion/

https://teacheratseaalumni.org/lessons/cohort-introductions/

Thank you for your help.

Ok we've understand the issue.

Please note, the default "Attach an image" button is only available for the post, pages, and attachments post types, and for default Wordpress user roles. For custom post types and custom user roles, the button is not accessible. For more advanced features, we recommend to check out the wpDiscuz Media Uploader add-on.

Does this mean we cannot use it for the LearnDash course? I am unclear as to what you mean by "custom post types" and "custom user roles". The "posts" are the lessons within LearnDash, and the "user roles" are all set to "subscribers" as they are enrolled in the course. That enables them to comment, although there is no button to upload the media as it says it should be able to do.

Can you please tell me what the setting "comment content and media" is for if I cannot allow users to upload a single image?

@aschmutt,

The Learndash is not the default WordPress post type, it's a custom one. In this case, you should check out the wpDiscuz Media Uploader addon.

You can check it out here: https://gvectors.com/product/wpdiscuz-media-uploader/
