Hello,

When users subscribe to new comments it seems that the content of the post they are sent has no formatting.

As in if someone typed something like this out in the comments:

One two three

for five six

seven eight nine

It would be sent in the email with no line breaks, paragraphs etc.. such as:

One two three for five six seven eight nine

Please advise.

P.s. We are still on the old 5.x branch, but plan to move to the 7.x branch soon.

The issue is in your email reading client. It seems it only shows HTML format by default. There should be an option to enable HTML in that email client.

The solution provided in this post should also be helpful for you. Even if the solution is for another plugin for the wpDiscuz plugin it also should work fine.

Hi Asit,

Thanks for the response but unfortunately that is not the issue.

My email client displays html content fine (no issues with other emails) and this happens in other email clients as well including gmail (desktop) and gmail (app) as well with other people, this is how I found out about the issue.

But I will try the solution in the other thread and see if it works.

Hi @asti... thanks, that seems to have fixed it.

However, I did notice all of a sudden now other emails have lost their formatting, such as the ones I receive from WordFence.

Could you please advise what you did to fix it?

wpDiscuz doesn't add any relation to this. We've just made some changes in the wpDiscuz plugin codes, nothing else. We've just added the wpautop() function for sending the subscription email. Don't touch other plugin codes.
