We don't find such an issue on our test websites. Could you please create a dev/staging copy of your website in some sub-domain, make sure the problem exists and send admin details to us? You can use Duplicator to create that site.

I added a comments widget to check if the problem is from wordpress DB.

There is a difference in the count. wordpress is showing the right number

Once we publish the comment the count is updated as well. There is no issue with wpDiscuz for sure. We've just asked you for admin details to point you how you can solve the issue.

I understand the case of post with no comments as the example you sent

But what about the screenshot i have send you? Post with 21 active comments and the counter shows only 8. 

this goes for all post with more than 8 comments

How do you suggest to solve this?

We've just checked your website. One of the active plugins or theme has the following working logic. It always gets the global post id (in your case the post ID is 3580), so this cause the issue.

This is not a wpDiscuz plugin for sure. you'd need to find the problem maker by deactivating the plugins/theme one by one and checking after each deactivation.

Keep cache plugin deactivated during this process. Once you find the problem maker, contact the plugin/theme support forum and ask them to solve the issue.

One Question before going thru this

How do you explain that if i use any Wordpress/Elementor post meta widgets They show the right number of comments?

If thing are the way you described - should't it be a cross website problem.

It seem to occur only in wpDiscuz.
