On mobile on my wordpress page the inline commenting „hides“ behind images. Is there any known solution to fix this? Overlapping text works fine, just images create this issue.

@jacob Unfortunately that has not had any effect, the overlay bug persists. Feel free to test on my staging with the access you have.

Please try on incognito mode if you're checking on mobile devices. Because mobile browsers have a hard cache, you'll not be able to see the change immediately.
The developers haven't added any additional code for this issue.
@asti If the inline commenting is placed somewhere "within" a text block with enough room to overlap text, there is no issue (and I have changed most of the to be like that while looking for a fix). But if there would be overlap with an image or other element in another block, the issue still persists ( as just tested on my dev):
