Hello! The quoted text for an inline comment question displays random code sometimes. You can see the code when viewing the block in HTML. You can't delete it either. WP throws an error when I try to remove the code. Thank you for the help!

The issue may come from the < HTML entities.

You should use the correct symbols ("<" and ">") in the shortcode content.
