I'm comparing WPDiscuz to a couple other comment/review plugins and have some questions. I sent an email but was directed to post these here.

1. Can I turn off social commenting, but keep social login?
2. Does this integrate with mailchimp to auto-subscribe first-time logins to my email list?
3. Do you have plans for a ReCaptcha 3 add-on?
4. If social Login is used, then user is not required to recaptcha, correct?
5. Will social login use their social profile pic as avatar in comments?
6. Users can now give star rating without commenting. Can I turn that off and require a comment to rate?
7. Does WPDiscuz come with the star rating field in comment form? Or is this a complicated process to add it?
8. Does the star rating have schema, so there is a possibility of seeing the overall rating in Google search results?
9. Will overall star rating show under title on the post page and in archives? Like "** 4.5 (50 Reviews)" or "** 4.5 / 50" ?
10. Can I change style of social login buttons to long rectangles, instead of small circles?
11. Can I select only certain social login options, like just facebook and google?
12. If I set comments to load as AJAX after page load, does this affect whether Google can see these comments when it crawls the posts?

Thanks.

Hi @topsites

1. Can I turn off social commenting, but keep social login?

Could you please clarify a bit?

2. Does this integrate with mailchimp to auto-subscribe first-time logins to my email list?

I'm really sorry, but wpDiscuz isn't integrate with mailchimp.

3. Do you have plans for a ReCaptcha 3 add-on?

Here it is: https://gvectors.com/product/wpdiscuz-recaptcha/

4. If social Login is used, then user is not required to recaptcha, correct?

This depends on the "Enable for Logged-in Users" option. If it's not enabled then, yes, that is correct. https://wpdiscuz.com/docs/wpdiscuz-7/plugin-settings/google-recaptcha/#enable-for-logged-in-users

5. Will social login use their social profile pic as avatar in comments?

If the sotial network allows us to get the avatar, they yes. You can check it here: https://wpdiscuz.com/demo/

Please read this doc: https://wpdiscuz.com/docs/wpdiscuz-7/plugin-settings/article-and-comment-rating/

10. Can I change style of social login buttons to long rectangles, instead of small circles?

You can do it via CSS code.

11. Can I select only certain social login options, like just facebook and google?

Sure you can. Please read this doc: https://wpdiscuz.com/docs/wpdiscuz-7/plugin-settings/social-login-and-share/

12. If I set comments to load as AJAX after page load, does this affect whether Google can see these comments when it crawls the posts?

Thanks for the responses:

1. The site says WP Disuz allows social login and social commenting. To me, social commenting means that the comments show on my site, but are hosted on social networks, and I don't own them. I want people to be able to use social login to register for comments/reviews, but not have to load facebook comments.

2. I see that the average user star rating can be added before content in a post. Will it show up next to the post title in the archives too? Or how to do this?

3. The plugin allows for thumbs up or thumbs down vote on other users' comments. Can we choose to only show a thumbs up option, so that people either give it a thumbs up or nothing?

@topsites,

Those won't be hosted on social networks. wpDiscuz is native comment system. All comments will be stored on your own database, nowhere else.

2. I see that the average user star rating can be added before content in a post. Will it show up next to the post title in the archives too? Or how to do this?

Use the Display Ratings option. More info here: https://wpdiscuz.com/docs/wpdiscuz-7/plugin-settings/article-and-comment-rating/#display-ratings

3. The plugin allows for thumbs up or thumbs down vote on other users' comments. Can we choose to only show a thumbs up option, so that people either give it a thumbs up or nothing?

Sure, you can. Use the "Enable down vote button (dislike)" option. It's located in the Dashboard > wpDiscuz > Settings > Comment Thread Features admin page.

Okay, last few questions.

1. If I add star ratings, is there a way to show the breakdown of ratings on a post, as in the number of 5-star, 4-star, 3-star, and so on?

2. Can we style the rating at top of post (and in archives) to say "***** 4.5 (50 Reviews)" instead of just showing stars?

3. When using inline commenting and feedback, if I have enabled stars for my comment form at the bottom of the post, will the inline comment form contain stars too?

4. If my comment settings say that users must be registered/logged in, then they can't see the comment form anyway, right? So Social Login buttons are just for sites that don't require commenters to be registered?
