Hello everyone 🙂

I hope all are fine. While I am relatively new to wpdiscuz; I am impressed with its flexibility and ability to manage and improve the comment part of my wordpress website. However; I am running into a few issues and would appreciate some guidance from people who have used the plugin more frequently.

The fact that wpdiscuz has so many customization choices is one of the primary reasons I chose it; but I'm having trouble getting the comment layout to exactly match the layout of my website.

  • I want to change the comment boxs look; including the margins; borders; and background color. It should be well integrated with the design of my website.
  • User avatars need to have their sizes changed; and their placement in relation to the comment text has to be adjusted.
  • To improve their usability and visual appeal; I would like to change the threaded comment indentation levels.

I have considered applying custom CSS in the WordPress Customizer Additional CSS area; but I am not seeing the desired outcomes. Could someone please give me some advice or CSS fragment examples so I may try to do these customizations? Alternatively, is there something that wpdiscuz already has that I am not aware of?

I want to encourage more engagement and make the comment section more interesting for my users.

  • I would love to add a feature that allows people to respond to comments with emojis or other icons; much like social network replies do.
  • Allow users to arrange comments in the order of most loved; oldest; and newest. This functionality looks like it will improve user experience on my site as well; I have seen it on other websites.
  • Enhance the clarity of admin comments by adding a background color or badge to set them out from other comments.

I have looked over the wpdiscuz options and extensions; but I am unable to figure out how to use these capabilities in an easy way. Would you suggest any particular plugins that are compatible with wpdiscuz for these uses? Any advice on how to configure these parameters would also be very valued.

Extra Details
WordPress 6.1.1; WordPress Discussions 7.3.17.57
Theme in Action: Astra
Other Plugins in Use: Yoast SEO; WP Rocket,

Also I have gained so much from reading discussions like this. https://wpdiscuz.com/community/f-a-q/the-wpdiscuz qliksensefeatures-available-for-users-from-the-frontend/#post-10599 I got valuable information from that post and the community here has been really helpful.

I think these changes will significantly improve my comment section's look and functioning, giving users a better experience. If there is anyone who has faced similar challenges or knows how to accomplish these changes; your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance i for your support ❤️ 👍

Please provide us with the CSS codes you've used and the example uRL to allow us to check it.

Currently, we have paid plugin customization and custom addon development services at the gVectors Team. They can assess the work and create it for you. Just contact us via sales[at]gvectors.com email address and send a list of requirements you'd like to have.

wpDiscuz comment list can be ordered by "Newest", "Oldest" and "Most voted"comments. If it's not visible check out this FAQ: https://wpdiscuz.com/community/f-a-q/if-the-wpdiscuz-sorting-buttons-are-missing/

Enhance the clarity of admin comments by adding a background color or badge to set them out from other comments.

You can use this CSS code:

.wpd-comment-wrap.wpd-blog-user.wpd-blog-administrator {background-color: #2a1d21;}
