Hi,

I recently switched to this plugin to try it out for commenting, and noticed that when users attach an image to the comment (using the default single image upload, without any add-ons) the image appears as an attachment to some comments, but it doesn't most of the time. However, it always gets uploaded to the media library.

Some users try to upload many times (many comments) with no luck. I have to figure out what image they are talking about from the media library.

Example of comments that are missing their image attachments:
1. https://cryingtoddlers.com/evap-line-vs-faint-positive-knowing-the-difference/#comment-895

2. https://cryingtoddlers.com/evap-line-vs-faint-positive-knowing-the-difference/#comment-895

3. https://cryingtoddlers.com/evap-line-vs-faint-positive-knowing-the-difference/#comment-895

Any many others.

Examples of comments that do have their image attachments:
1. https://cryingtoddlers.com/evap-line-vs-faint-positive-knowing-the-difference/#comment-888

2. https://cryingtoddlers.com/evap-line-vs-faint-positive-knowing-the-difference/#comment-885

I do like this plugin, but this issue is affecting my users. Could you please help me out?
Thanks.

@jehad-b,

We've just tested your website and don't find such an issue. Please see the testing comment here: https://cryingtoddlers.com/evap-line-vs-faint-positive-knowing-the-difference/#comment-897

This may happen if the user is immediately click on the Post comment button without waiting until the attachment is being finished to attaching.

Thanks for the super quick response.

Yeah you might be right. I tried clicking post comment before the upload finishes, and I found the upload in the media library but not on the comment, which is the issue I was describing.

Is there a way to disable the "post comment" button while there is an ongoing upload? Or do you have a plan to support that in future version? (or at least make the upload progress more obvious, because currently it appears at the top right corner of the screen and it's not obvious so users won't realize they have to way. so maybe make it in the center, with overlay or something?)

@jehad-b,

I'm really sorry, but there is not an easy way for this customization.

I may suggest you write some admin note (something like "please don't click on the post comment button, if the file isn't uploaded.")  using the wpdiscuz_comment_form_before hook.

More info here: https://wpdiscuz.com/docs/codex/actions/wpdiscuz_comment_form_before/

You can also change the placeholder text with the same message. The phrase is located in the Dashboard > WpDiscuz > Phrases > Form admin page.
