wpDiscuz can be loaded thru the <?php comments_template() ?> WordPress template function. If your current active theme includes the function in the template files, then wpDiscuz will be loaded and work fine. More information here: https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/comments_template

You should change the value of the Enable threaded (nested) comments X levels deep option.
It's located in the Dashboard > Settings > Discussion admin page.
