Hi All,

Downloaded the beta 7 version approx a week ago (love it) and now am seeing google errors and getting e-mails from the search console telling me so.

Firstly it detects '1 invalid item' and comes up with 2 serious 'red' warnings -

- Value in property 'ratingCount' must be positive

- Rating is missing required best and/or worst values

It then has 7 lesser 'amber' warnings - missing 'review', 'brand', 'description', 'sku', 'image'. No global identifier provided (eg gtin, mpn, isbn).

I'm a clinical pain specialist running a site giving pain relief advice (helprelievepain.com), not a web designer, so please accept my apologies if this is obvious.

I've tried to investigate further and google points to a piece of code itemprop='ratingValue'>0</span> <span class='wpdrc' itemprop='ratingCount'>0</span> <span class='wpdrt'>vote</span></div><div style='display:none;' class='wpd-rating-title'.

I've asked my service provider but they suggested wpdrc was related to the only new plugin I've installed - wpdiscuz v7, which I absolutely love and dont want to disable.

Looking through my settings for a solution I have the 'Enable Aggregate Rating Schema' selected albeit for 'before comments' only.

Is it because many of pages have yet to be rated and therefore I should wait and accept de-listing until someone rates my articles?

Or should I perhaps not have it at all as I'm not selling any products, just providing an informational service? I liked the idea of having a page 'rating' if it's useful, but maybe I shouldn't?

Many thanks for any help you can offer,

Michael

Hi @michael,

The two red warnings are not good. I think this is a website specific issue. Where can we see a page with the incorrect rating? Can you leave some URL?

These are extra information that only available for shop product pages. You should ignore all these:

It then has 7 lesser 'amber' warnings - missing 'review', 'brand', 'description', 'sku', 'image'. No global identifier provided (eg gtin, mpn, isbn).

Hi @tomson,

Thank you for taking a look at my issue. I have a website built with wordpress/ elementor pro, but the issue started basically a day after installing wpd.

It's now affecting 36 pages - more each day, but basically it's my entire site (it's just coming out every time google crawls one of my pages).

The initial message from google on e-mails and console page reads -

'URL is on Google, but has issues
It can appear in Google Search results (if not subject to a manual action or removal request). However, some issues prevent it from being eligible for all enhancements.'

I have screenshots of the error messages, but cant attach them. Both those warnings above were 'red' and it said in the email will affect my organic listings. To be fair, I'm not overly worried at this point as google hates new (18month old) medical sites anyway. But they were just starting to pick up finally.

I don't sell anything - let alone 'products', but google never thought I did, so didn't mark me down in the past. That (and the code) is what makes me think it connected in some way to Enable Aggregate Rating Schema.

I also use the plugin 'schema pro' - but have for years without ever getting even the amber shop-related messages.

Is there anyway that wpdiscuz has now classified my site with google as a 'shop'? Again that may be a stupid question as I'm a clinician not a full-time developer, but I've never had any warnings before?

As I say, I love wpdiscuz7.0 overall, so I'm not moaning about the plugin because it can always be deactivated, but I'd much rather just see if there is a fix that I'm not doing?

Kind regards,

Michael

This is fixed. Please wait for the next wpDiscuz 7 Beta-6 version release.

Ok, we just released the Beta 6. Please update, delete all caches, then make sure all caches are reset again and then test it.

Hi Tom - asking a stupid question (bearing in mind I'm new to web design and unlike medicine, there aren't a million references to check back against), how do I update to beta 6? I cant find anywhere in the plugin to check for an update and then install it?

Normally I wait for a plugin to say they have an update available, so I'm not an expert at searching for updates. Clearing the caches is no problem, but updating not so much.....

Many thanks

Michael

wpDiscuz 7 is not released in wordpress.org so you can't get update like other plugins. You'll get regular updates once we released wpDiscuz 7 stable version. Currently, you should download the new beta version, then deactivate and delete your current version and upload/install the new version.
