Some readers of my site (dailynous.com), who themselves have no editorial or administrative privileges, are able to see some comments that have not been approved for publication. It is as if they have my logged-in view of the page, and are able to see the comment and that it says "Awaiting Approval." See the attached photo, sent in by a reader of my site.
Not all readers can see unapproved comments (and I myself have been unable to reproduce the problem in a browser in which I'm not logged in). I'm not sure whether the ones who can are able to see all or just some of the unapproved comments. This appears to be a relatively new problem.
I should add, for clarification, that the person who shared the screenshot above with me is NOT the author of the comments. I'm aware that the authors of comments will see "awaiting approval" indicators. The problem is that people besides the author of a comment that's awaiting approval, and who are not administrators or editors of the site, can see the comment.
Please provide the direct URL where you see any unapproved comments so we can check it as well.
In case you want to say thank you! 🙂 We'd really appreciate if you leave a good review on the plugin page. This is the best way to say thank you to this project and the support team.
As I said, I myself cannot reproduce the problem. As administrator of the site, when logged in, I see the comment on the front end with the "awaiting approval" notice; but when looking at the site while not logged in, I do not see it. The screenshot was sent in by a reader, and I've heard a couple of other reports about this phenomenon over the past few months.
We’ve checked your website multiple times and haven’t been able to reproduce the issue. The unapproved comments are not accessible to us.
