Is it possible to set a global email account which recieves all discussion notifications.

Those notifications are sent to the E-mail address listed in the Administration > Settings > General Screen.

The admin email of the wordpress website also receives many other system emails which we do not want to not be received, ideally we want to set a unique email address, which receives the email notification of discussions only. Is this possible?

Many Thanks. I've used this, https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-comment-notification/ but it would be handy if this could be managed within the single comments section of the plugin.

That email is sent by the WordPress side. So the wpDiscuz doesn't have any relation with this. The wpDiscuz sends the notification only in case the user is subscribed.

In this case, in this case, you should use the plugin.
