The phrases for joining a conversation and for starting one are displayed vertically. I have not altered any CSS myself. I have disabled wpdiscuz and re-enabled. Other things I should do to try and fix it? Thanks!

This is just a small CSS conflict with the theme or other plugins. Please leave the example URL where we can see the wpDiscuz plugin activated to allow us to debug the issue and provide a solution for you.
