I started having this exact same issue this morning, around 1030 am EST
Thought it was cache related, but turning off all caching did not fix it
Now it is only happening to some users where before it was all

I'm having the same issue as of 30th July.

A little concerning it's been 2 days now and no reply to this critical issue.

Hi,

Please check your security plugins' options and make sure they don't block the WordPress AJAX. This could be also blocked by the .htaccess file.

If none of the plugins caused the issue please contact server support and ask them to check the access of the admin-ajax.php file. This also can be done by the server side.
