Hello, I’ve decided to try WPDiscuz because a lot of my readers prefer to comment on the post shared on social network rather than directly on the blog.
But I meet a lot of problems to configure the Apps
- WPDiscuz documentation is outdated (for Facebook and Google) and I had to use the documentation of… another plugin
- I’m blocked in Gmail because of the validation
1. Homepage Requirements
Your app homepage must meet the following requirements:
-
The homepage must be hosted on a verified domain you own
-
The homepage must accurately represent and identify your app or brand
-
The homepage must describe your app’s functionality to its users. Your homepage can not be only a login page
-
You must add the link of your privacy policy to your homepage and this link should match the link you added on your OAuth consent screen configuration
I don’t understand what is needed. The "homepage must describe your app’s functionnality "? Do I have to create a page with app’s description ? Does somebody has some example to show ?
Thanks for your answers.

I’ve read it and all the points seem good to me… except The homepage must describe your app’s functionality to its users.
So I have to explain on my homepage the use of the login to comment ?

Hi MrZero,
Great question! You're right to be thinking about this carefully. For Google's homepage requirements, you don't necessarily need to dedicate your entire homepage to explaining the login feature. Instead, Google is looking for a clear description of what your app/site does overall. Since WPDiscuz commenting is a feature of your blog (not the primary purpose), you can address this requirement by ensuring your homepage clearly explains that your site is a blog where readers can engage through comments and social logins.
A practical approach would be to add a brief section or footer note mentioning something like: "Readers can easily comment on posts and log in using their Google or Facebook accounts for a seamless experience." This satisfies Google's requirement that the homepage describes functionality while keeping the focus on your blog's core purpose. You could also add this explanation in a "How to Comment" or "About" section if you have one. The key is transparency—Google wants to see that you're being honest about what users will encounter when they use the login feature, not that the entire site revolves around it. Does this approach make sense for your site's layout?
