Hello:

We use the Private Comments feature on our websites, which obviously is only available for use when starting a thread, not when replying to a publicly-visible thread.

I would love to see the ability for site admins to be able to send a private reply to users in existing public threads for moderation purposes, allowing admins to communicate privately if they want to ask a user to, for example, edit their comment to adhere to posting guidelines without having the comment visible to all users.
