Good Day!

When a guest submits a “voter rating” on any of our posts, the voter rating does not display immediately. It only displays after affected post’s cache is purged in the back end, web browser cache is purged, and website or post reloaded.

The above issue suggests to our website visitors (guests) that the “voter rating” feature on our website or post is not working.

To further assist, we are using both WP Rocket and SG Optimizer.

Any idea on how to fix the above (i.e., bypass cache)?

Thank you in advance for your help. Please stay safe.

Hi@aerostar,

Could you please send the admin login details to info[at]gvectors.com email address?  I'll ask the developers to check the issue and provide some solution for you.

Hi @asti,

As always, thank you for your support. Before we provide login credentials (later today), can you answer the following questions?

(1) Is the Voter Rating system (for guests) supposed to post votes soon after a vote is cast or after all cache is cleared?

(2) What are the optimum plugin settings for using Voter Rating (for guests)?

(3) Can you provide a sample website (or two) where the Voter Rating system is activated for guests? We'd like to take a look at it - and vote 🙂

Thank you.

Update:

We conducted further testing and narrowed down the issue to the plugin, SG Optimizer (caching plugin).

Here's what we did:

With Cloudflare ON:

(a) Clicked to register a new vote

(b) Purged WP Rocket cache (vote not registered)

(c) Purged SG Cache (vote registered

With Cloudflare OFF:

Same results as above.

Conclusion:

At a glance, it appears the plugin SG Optimizer is treating certain WP Discuz files as static files.

Potential Fix:

We need to exclude affected WP Discuz files (URL paths) from the plugin SG Optimizer so they can be treated as dynamic files. Click here: http://prntscr.com/tmn7q0

Can you provide those files? (i.e., URL paths)

Thank you!

wpDiscuz doesn't have such an issue with the rest of the cache plugins. Just with the SG Optimizer one.

We've asked you to send the admin login details as far as we'd like to check the issue and provide some codding solution and fix it for this plugin as well.

@aerostar,

Please open a plugin editing feature, to allow the developers to check the issue.

@asti,

Any updates? It appears our issue or challenge has not yet been resolved.

Until then, guests or visitors will just have to wait until our website's cache is cleared (once per week) before they can see their vote(s).

Cheers!

Hi @aerostar,

Sorry for the late response.

We've not found a solution for this case. We'll update the plugin once find a solution.

Hi @asti,

This issue is fixed. Everything works as long as caching is disabled for the pages that use your plugin. Not the best solution since affected pages are now much slower.

We posted a new topic to address a few more details concerning this global issue.

Thank you!
