Hey,

I was following this support thread: https://wpdiscuz.com/community/troubleshooting/old-images-not-appearing-in-comment-short-codes-not-working/#post-861

I couldn't actually find the:
"Once the addon is activated go to Dashboard > wpDiscuz > Settings > Content & Media admin page and click on [Regenerate Attachments Data] button."

And further to that I really don't understand why step 3 was even recommended as part of the solution:

"Then login with your customer account at gVectors Store and download the new wpDiscuz Embeds addon, go to Dashboard > Plugins admin page, [Add New] and install it using the installation ZIP file."

Ultimately - we've moved our content onto a fresh install of WordPress because of some underlying issues with the site.

Despite the fact that the comments have come across - and the media files are in the database - these images aren't displaying as attachments or thumbnails on the comments they were originally attached to.

They're not even displaying "failed to load" image icons

It's like the comments don't actually have images attached to them.

That being said - weirdly - a couple of older comments DO appear to have pulled through the images (but only 2)

On the whole the images have gone missing from the front end.

Here's the old site:

https://ashleyp19.sg-host.com/identifying-an-older-air-compressor/

Here's the new site:

https://www.about-air-compressors.com/identifying-an-older-air-compressor/

That page in particular is an image heavy page where almost every top level comment had images attached to it previously (as you'll see by visiting the old site)

But now those images are visible when I'm looking at the media library - but not on the front end of the site.

When moving content from the old site to the new one, we exported the pages and imported them to the new install - this brought with it images and comments (I was actually expecting to need to manually export and import the comments, but they appeared in the new install after importing the pages)

I now need to figure out how to get the media attachments back onto the original comments - there are many hundreds of parent topics...

Thanks in advance

@ashley_pearce,

Have you correctly moved the wp_comments and wp_commentmeta tables?
