The checkbox to show or hide the comments box is no longer available on posts and lessons. Is this a bug, or was the feature changed? Wordpress 6.6.1 and wpDiscuz Version 7.6.22

Hi,

We don't follow you well. Please try to explain using some screenshots.

In the righthand sidebar, there used to be an option checkbox to select to include the comments. It is no longer there:

@tonyraven

This issue doesn't have any relation to the wpDiscuz plugin. Even if you deactivate the wpDiscuz plugin you'll see the same problem.

This issue may come from the other plugin or the active theme. Please deactivate the plugins/theme one by one and check after each deactivation to find the problem maker. Firstly, deactivate the recently installed/updated plugins/theme.

Keep the cache plugin (if you have) deactivated during this testing process.

After researching further, this appears to be caused by the Wordpress update to version 6.6.1. I’ve tried deactivating the plugins and themes to make sure those weren’t the culprit, and they aren't. So are you working on a fix for this with your next update?

@tonyraven,

The admin widget you are showing is the Gutenberg Editor widget. As mentioned @asti this cannot be fixed from wpDiscuz side. We don't have control over Gutenberg Editor widgets. This option is a WordPress core option so you should contact WordPress support and ask them to bring it back.

This article can be useful as well: https://help.elegantthemes.com/en/articles/2248025-how-to-fix-missing-comments-section-on-wordpress-pages

Thanks. So what is the solution? Without this widget, how can I show or hide the comments on a post?

@tonyraven,

First ask WordPress support about that option, because that's the main option WordPress provides you to manage comments. here is the support forum: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

If this option doesn’t exist, I’m not sure if any other solution will work. Here are the main steps that can be taken from the WordPress and wpDiscuz side for such cases: https://wpdiscuz.com/docs/wpdiscuz-7/getting-started/missing-comment-form/

Thanks. This is a major change to the functionality. I can no longer select to enable the comments on a post or lesson. In the future, when you learn about this big of a change, I suggest emailing your customers. Thanks.
