Hello, I have been having a lot of issues with the wp-discuz plugin implemented as a comment feature on my learndash course.

Issues mainly include ajax requests overloads which frequently cause MySQL to go down, ultimately bringing down the whole server.

chrome fZkB8usL5c

Also, just today, registered users IP addresses have been blocked by the firewall is showing to be blocking a lot of requests similar to these:

https://pastebin.sucuri.net/xo2nlq0ta48c37

chrome 5uSWMd30Qn
chrome 9mMxZ0DYd1

I added the url path under a list of allowed url paths as shown and hopefully this can fix this problem.

I would appreciate any insights or help with this matter as it has been really frustrating and also halting the entire student experience. Thank you so much!

@farouq11,

Make sure the live update is disabled for comments for the comment bubble.

If you want to keep it, just disable it for guests (not logged-in users).

The options are located in wpDiscuz > Settings > Live Commenting and notifications admin page: https://wpdiscuz.com/docs/wpdiscuz-7/plugin-settings/live-commenting-and-notifications/

@tomson Hi Tom, thank you for getting back to me.

Does the adjustment to the settings shown look right to you to possibly eliminate this problem?

@farouq11 ,

Ok, then this is a spam attack. You should install some security plugin, e.g. Wordfence to block such attacks.
