I'm sorry I was looking for changing the content of the wpd-form-head div (mainly to print the nickname). I've tested many filter hooks, without success. I tried to find if that field is accessible in the admin settings too.
You should change the value of the "Display name publicly as" option. Navigate to Dashboard > Users admin page edit the user profile and change the value of the option.
