We've moved our comments to WPDiscuz today over from Disqus. We're on Wordpress.com on a Business plan, had no issues since we have moved there cca. 5 years ago, we've had no issues serving 100.000 users daily. We've decided to make the move today as its a Bank Holiday, Since activating WPDiscuz, we had only about 400-500 comments and at most 70-80 active users, but if we don't scale back on many of the quality of life features, the site crashes/stalls almost instantly.
The only way it does not if we don't display replies automatically, we're using pagination with 25 comments instead of the load more feature and 50 comments. What we have today is a very light load. And the site crawls from time to time.
The wordpress.com team investigates the issue on their end, they have made some changes already, but if you have any suggestions to help with how to improve performance - because as things stand, our users - with good reasons - are very unhappy.
We really don't want pagination, and replies should be displayed automatically.
