I noticed that the 5-star stand alone post rating, for anonymous users, does not allow submitting multiple ratings. That's a good thing.
How is this enforced? I don't see a cookie saved in the browser.
And the same question is for logged in users, how is this enforced? Is it in the database?

It checks in DB via the IP address of the guest. In the case of the logged users, it checks via their IDs.
