Have tried default priority for the anonymous function as well. There is no other instance of "wpdiscuz_comment_list_args" hook in our code either. Suggestions?

Please enable the sorting buttons and leave some example URL to allow us to check the issue.
Due to numerous other customization needs and client wishes we must "Load with page" and "Load all Comments" which does not seem to allow for the sorting buttons to be a valid option. Is it not possible to change comment order at all without the sorting buttons? That degrades from WP's own core comment setting features.

Please leave a screenshot of the whole "Other comment settings" section. It's located in the Dashboard > Settings > Discussion admin page.
We have it set to "older" here, so reversing should be "newer" right?

Might you being blocked from the login form by Wordfence? If so, can get an IP address or address block to whitelist?
Now we're successfully logged in, but we're not allowed to make some changes in the plugin codes. Please fix this and let know.
@asti Sorry, to clarify, are you asking for access to the web-based theme/plugin code editor? If that's the case we'd prefer to get you the same login set up on the dev installation, as we just can't afford that level of access to anyone on the production installation. Thanks for bearing with us!

You should disable the WordPress native pagination. More info here: https://wpdiscuz.com/docs/wpdiscuz-7/plugin-settings/comment-thread-displaying/#comments-pagination-type
The WordPress ignores the reverse_top_level property if the pagination is enabled.
@asti Good to know. We do need pagination for the other templates, unfortunately. Is there any way to set page_comments programmatically that you know of? Tried to do so using update_option but the result seems essentially random.
