Comment text character limitation with count-down control

New cool feature in wpDiscuz 3.2.6. Comment text character limitation with count-down control.

To activate this feature you should set max limit for comment text characters in wpDiscuz Settings page.

The countdown becomes red when you close to the limit.

This is the best comment system that I’ve seen yet. I’m preparing to add it to my blog, and will be purchasing some of the addons.

One question: how can I get a text editor bar like the one that you have here? Is that an addon that can be purchased?

Thank you Tony
This is a free built-in feature called Quicktag. You just need to navigate to Dashboard > Comments > Settings and check the “Enable Quicktags” option.

Thanks! I’ve been using WordPress for 7+ years, and had no idea that such a feature existed in any comment plugin. It’s so much better than the default.

The Dashboard > Comments > Settings admin page is added by wpDiscuz, this is not WordPress admin page and all options are wpDiscuz options.

Hi – Looks great but I have a few questions.
1. How configurable is it? Can I turn off fields like the author name and email address etc. as I want to prepopulate with the users I know since they are already logged in. Can I turn off the captcha, etc. – as in i want to control which fields are displayed.
2. Will installing this delete my already existing comments?

A second problem is that on Firefox it resets all configurations back to basic when I reload the page. On Safari it shows only the default settings. I have tried to empty the caches but it only works until I reload the page again (and on Safari it… Read more »
