Rolling back to 7.6.47 fixed the problem for all registered users.  We had previously noticed that guests were unable to like comments after a major WordPress update, possibly in 2025 - this was despite the setting allowing guests to rate comments being turned on.  We chose not to submit a report on this feature breakage for guests until now, since it was more of a WP core issue at that time.

Please note that we do not have JetPack installed, but we did add your suggested code snippet to disregard nonces for guests, since some users and especially guests seemed to experience the red nonce warnings.  With 7.6.48, the red message dialog was the same for both registered users and guests, that they were not allowed to vote.

I would like to report a possible bug in wpDiscuz. When a visitor tries to rate a post as a guest (not logged in), the system shows the message “You cannot vote for your own comment.” However, the user is not voting on their own comment; they are simply trying to rate the post while not being logged in.

Guest ratings used to work correctly on our site, but recently this behavior changed and guests can no longer vote. The message therefore appears to be incorrect. I will also attach a screenshot of the general settings in case it helps identify the issue.

For context: the site is running behind Cloudflare.

Expected behavior: guests should be able to rate posts without being logged in, as this worked before.

Could you please check whether this is a known issue or something introduced in a recent update?

Hi everyone,

I’m running into an issue with the comment form when switching from “off” mode to dark mode. It’s not just a color problem—the size of the comment text field actually shrinks after toggling dark mode, which affects usability.

In addition to fixing the size issue, I’d also like to adjust the styling of the comment field. Specifically, I want the text area background to be a bit brighter (around #cccccc) and the border lines of the field box to also use #cccccc so it looks cleaner and more consistent in both modes.

I manage content over at https://shvideos.com.co/married-at-first-sight-au/, so having a smooth and readable comment experience is really important for visitors.

See this is an older post and I don't know if it's been fixed but for me now it doesn't work.

I was asked by your team to open a new thread on this forums, after the one I started on wordpress plugin support forums was not resolved.

As per the title of this thread, I am reached out by users telling me they are unable to post their comments on my website. I tried it myself as an admin, and I am getting the “Nonce is invalid” error. This is most likely goes back since mid OCTOBER 2025, as since then I was unable to see any new comments from my users. 

I was offered by your team to add the below filter:

add_filter(“wpdiscuz_validate_nonce_for_guests”,”__return_false”)

I have used code snippets to add the filter, however, it did not work. Although I am not a code expert, I assume there be some function code included along to use with this filter (see attached image)

Please advise how to resolve this issue, as everything was working perfectly in the past and I am not sure what step to take next ( I also searched for previous similar topics, but they were not helpful in my case).

Since I updated to version 7.6.47, my readers can no longer post comments; they receive a "nonce is invalid" error. i have cloudflare + APO cloudflare

I don't have this problem when I bypass Cloudflare by hardcoding my server's IP address in the hosts file.

The only solution I found was to roll back to version 7.6.46, and that resolved the issue temporarly. Readers were complaining about no longer being able to comment on articles.

I'm waiting for a solution in a future plugin update. The problem is the same after cleaning all cache. Only rollback in 7.6.46 is ok for the moment.
