Hey everyone,

I’ve been troubleshooting a strange issue on one of my WordPress sites and wanted to see if anyone here has dealt with something similar while using wpDiscuz.

Over the past few days, I noticed that some pages with larger comment threads suddenly became much slower to load, especially when users interact with embedded previews or external references inside discussions. At first I assumed it was a caching issue, but even after clearing cache and disabling a few plugins, the lag still keeps happening randomly.

The problem becomes more noticeable whenever visitors mention things like download icon during conversations or when external resources are referenced inside comments. Sometimes the page takes several extra seconds to render, and mobile users reported occasional freezing while scrolling through replies.

I already tested different themes, disabled lazy loading, and checked browser console errors, but I’m still seeing unusual spikes in resource usage whenever discussions become more active.

Has anyone here experienced wpDiscuz conflicts with external embeds, browser rendering, or third-party scripts recently? I’m trying to figure out whether this is related to AJAX loading, a plugin compatibility issue, or maybe something connected to newer WordPress updates.

I'm using the Article Inline Feedback feature, and I've run into a logical inconsistency that I hope you can clarify.

In my Default Form settings, the Email field is set to "Required." However, in the Inline Feedback pop-up, guests can still post comments without providing an email address. The system then generates a random temporary email (like
xxxx@example.com
) for them.

My concern is this: > Right below the comment box, there is a "Notify me via email when a new reply is posted" checkbox. If the email field isn't mandatory, how is this feature supposed to work for guests? It seems like a broken user experience if they opt-in for notifications but the system never collected their real address.

Is there a specific setting to force Email as Required specifically for the Inline Feedback module? I've checked General Settings and User Authorization, but the "optional" behavior persists.

Thanks for the great plugin otherwise!
